Covid-19 Update. ASLEF demand emergency TfL summit meeting on management response.

Overnight we became aware that a driver on the Jubilee line, who had recently been abroad, has tested positive for Covid-19. He had not been at work since Monday

Your ASLEF reps were in immediate contact with senior management and cleaning teams were sent in to the locations where the driver had been. But the evidence on the grounds suggests that this was far from the deep clean required.

Despite the steps taken so far, it is clear that people are not feeling reassured that everything necessary is being done to protect their safety. Your local and combine H&S reps are doing all they can to pass on the information they receive, but they of course can not tell people what to do.

Members should follow Government advice and self isolate if you have symptoms. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

Many people will also be concerned about family members who may be at high risk because of their age or underlying health conditions. As always, you should do what you feel is best for the welfare of your family. ASLEF will always support our members.

ASLEF have written to management this morning demanding an emergency summit to discuss TfL’s response to this public heath crises. As soon as we have more information we will share it with reps and members.
