ASLEF ballot for industrial action on the east end of the Central line

Despite every effort by your elected reps to prevent drivers being displaced from the east end of the Central line, management have now forcibly moved a number of drivers from Leytonstone to Earls Court without any compensation for additional travelling time. No consideration has been shown for the hardship this will cause and no attempt was mage to offer them more suitable locations.

This is both unfair and in breach of the main agreement covering any perceived "surplus" of staff. The ASLEF Executive Committee has supported the Leytonstone branch request for a ballot for industrial action on this issue and also as a result of the lack of support shown to our members following traumatic incidents.

Members at Hainault, Loughton and Leytonstone Depots will shortly receive ballot papers for strike action and for action short of a strike.

The closing date for the return of ballot papers is to be 10:00 hrs on Monday 13th February 2017.

Members are urged to vote Yes and return your ballot papers.
